“Symptoms are not enemies to be destroyed, But sacred messengers who encourage us to take better care of ourselves.”
ACUPUNCTURE
-
Acupuncture is one of the oldest, most common and dependable medical therapies used in the world. It is by nature simple, safe and effective health care. Acupuncturists use thin, sterile disposable needles inserted superficially into specific areas of the body in order to help the body's ability to heal itself. Over the three decades or so in which acupuncture has developed in the U.S., it has been proven to be not only exceptionally safe when performed by licensed acupuncturists, but statistically effective in an increasing body of scientific studies.

Community acupuncture is a nationwide movement to create access to acupuncture by removing the barrier of cost from healing.
In our clinic we primarily use recliners, clustered in groups in a large, quiet, soothing space. Treating patients in a community setting has many benefits: it’s easy for friends and family members to come in for treatment together; many patients find it comforting; and a collective energetic field becomes established which actually makes individual treatments more powerful. In some styles of acupuncture, the needles are removed after only a few minutes or after a half hour at most. The style of acupuncture we practice at Namaste Acupuncture & Wellness allows patients to keep their needles in as long as they want, and the “right” amount of time varies from patient to patient. Most people learn after a few treatments when they feel “done;” this can take from twenty minutes to a couple of hours! Many people fall asleep, and wake feeling refreshed.

Acupuncture is most effective when it is done frequently and regularly-once or more a week. We recognize that everyone has a different set of financial circumstances and thus a different ability to pay for healthcare. Therefore, the sliding scale we use at Namaste
Acupuncture & Wellness of $40-60 will help you carry out a more frequent course of treatment often enough to really get better and stay better! You can decide what you can afford on any given day and there is never any need to prove your income.
We know that acupuncture is powerful, life-changing medicine. As Doctors of Oriental Medicine, we believe that it is our role to provide access to this medicine to as many people as possible.
Namaste Acupuncture & Wellness does not receive grants, state or federal money, or insurance reimbursement. Because we have a sliding scale, we cannot do insurance billing (that’s the insurance companies’ rule).

No. The style of acupuncture we practice uses "distal" points. Meaning we can treat problems anywhere in the body by placing tiny needles in your hands and feet.
Generally, the acupuncture points that we use are located below the knees, below the elbows, and on the ears and head. So nobody needs to undress.
Most people just come in make themselves comfortable on one of our recliners, take their shoes off, roll up their sleeves and pants, and relax while they wait for treatment.
