Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) massage is frequently recommended by plastic surgeons during the recovery phase following cosmetic liposuction. This specialized form of treatment is generally believed to decrease recovery time and improve results, by reducing post-surgical swelling and fibrosis (scar tissue formation). Lymphatic drainage treatments can begin as soon as 24 hours after surgery. It is an ideal therapy after liposuction, Brazilian butt lift, and tummy tuck procedures.

What Is Manual Lymphatic Drainage?

Manual Lymphatic Drainage was originally developed in Germany. It was intended to treat lymphedema, swelling caused by accumulated fluid that happens after the surgical removal of lymph nodes, which happens most frequently during mastectomy surgeries. Primary lymphedema can also occur although its cause is unknown; when it does, it typically happens throughout life and can affect many parts of the body. Various other conditions cause lymphedema as a secondary symptom, so a range of patients are looking for solutions to this kind of swelling and the pain it causes.

The Benefits

  • Removes metabolic waste, excess water, toxins, bacteria, large protein molecules and foreign substances from the tissues.

  • MLD, through its gentle rhythmical precise hand movements, alleviates pain by greatly reducing the pain signals sent to the brain.

  • MLD relaxes the sympathetic nervous system, thus helping to relieve stress.

  • MLD supports and enhances the action of the immune system.

  • MLD helps the body to heal more quickly from surgical trauma.

  • MLD helps to minimize scar formation.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage Before and After Your Surgery

It is ideal to receive one or two lymphatic treatments or Body Sculpting sessions prior to surgery to prepare for the procedure.

After surgery, the number of sessions needed will depend on the type and location of surgery. Many different things can influence healing time, but typically 10-20 sessions are sufficient to see a significant improvement.

Sessions can be paid for individually and we offer a cash discount. We also offer discounted packages for multiple sessions.

What is Wood Therapy?

Wood therapy uses a number of different wooden massage-like tools to help break down fat and cellulite. The wooden instruments are used to apply direct pressure to “problem areas” and essentially naturally eliminate excess body fat.

There are a large number of benefits to getting wood therapy. In addition to being super relaxing and stress-relieving, wood therapy can help with:

  • Loosening tight muscles

  • Breaking down cellulite and burning fat

  • Naturally eliminating toxins in your body

  • Speeding up your metabolism

  • Stimulating blood circulation and lymphatic drainage

What is Radio-Frequency?

Radiofrequency (RF) therapy, also called radiofrequency skin tightening, is a nonsurgical method of tightening your skin. The procedure involves using energy waves to heat the deep layer of your skin known as your dermis. This heat stimulates the production of collagen.

Collagen is the most common protein in your body. It creates the framework of your skin and gives your skin its firmness; As you age, your cells produce less collagen, which leads to sagging skin and wrinkles. Skin laxity occurs around age 35 to 40 when the quantity and quality of your collagen begins to decline.

Radiofrequency body contouring tightens the skin, removes fat and improves tone without any downtime or pain at all. This pain-free procedure reduces cellulite, boosts collagen production and gets rid of fatty deposits that fail to go with exercise.

Cavitation Therapy

Cavitation is a non-invasive technique for Fat reduction. This method uses low-frequency ultrasound, which penetrates the skin layer and destroys the membranes of fat cells.

This procedure reshapes the body and reduces localized fat and cellulite. It is quick and painless, leaving no scars or bruises.
